Housing Counseling Services (HCS), a D.C.-based nonprofit, offers free foreclosure prevention clinics to help people in danger of losing their homes. Clients receive information and individual counseling to help them identify their realistic options for avoiding foreclosure and “foreclosure rescue scams.”
