Community Minute: Grocery delivery service for seniors and people with disabilities in D.C. region

Top Banana Home Delivered Groceries is a nonprofit organization that delivers groceries to seniors and people with disabilities in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Clients place phone orders for cut-to-order meats, fresh fruits and vegetables and household items, which are then pulled from the items from the organization’s storehouse and prepared for weekly deliveries. Top Banana delivery drivers can also assist customers with putting groceries away and small chores. The organization serves more than 500 residents in the region.
