The three stores in question are Old Farm Liquors on Old Farm Drive; Golden Mile Liquors on North McClain Drive; and Rosehill Service Station on Opossumtown Pike, police say.

All of the stores sold alcohol to underage decoys who acted on behalf of the investigation conducted by the Frederick police department, investigators add.

A police spokesperson says the clerks who sold the beverages to the minors could face fines or jail time, and the businesses may face license suspension.

In all, police conducted compliance checks at 20 area stores over the weekend.
