88.3 Ocean City: Encouraging homeownership in the city of Salisbury

Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Services is a nonprofit organization working to facilitate homeownership and community investment opportunities in the city of Salisbury, Md. SNHS assists individuals with securing loans to cover the cost of a home, closing costs and rehabilitation. Counseling staff work with families at risk for foreclosure and lenders to find alternatives. They also assist homeowners with budgeting and planning. The organization has also helped transform the city of Salisbury by focusing its revitalization efforts in the Westside Neighborhood, Camden Avenue area and the Doverdale/Church Street area.
