Nationals Park is just blocks from the scene of the shooting on Monday.

The scheduled between the Washington Nationals and Atlanta Braves has been postponed until 1 p.m. tomorrow in the wake of the shooting at the nearby Washington Navy Yard.

Nationals Park is located just blocks from the Naval Sea Systems Command headquarters in Southeast Washington D.C. Police have been using parking lot B as a waiting area for families of those who work at the Navy Yard.

The game was scheduled to begin at 7:05 p.m., and the team was sticking to their schedule until employees emerged from the stadium around 3 p.m. Monday afternoon and announced that the game was postponed.

The teams will now play a double-header tomorrow, with games at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m. The Nationals are currently 10 games behind the Braves in the National League East, and 4.5 games behind the Cincinnati Reds on track for a wild card berth.
