As a journalist, Canadian-born Robert MacNeil covered many of the events that have shaped America's recent history, and co-anchored "The MacNeil-Lehrer NewsHour" on PBS until 1995. But it was not until two years after his retirement, in 1997, that he finally became a U.S. citizen. His new memoir, subtitled "Finding Myself in America," explains why this decision was so difficult.
