Magnetic levitation trains are capable of speeds of more than 300 miles per hour. The technology has been around for decades, but up to now, highways and conventional rail and air service have remained the preferred ways to travel in the U.S. Now seven states are competing for almost $1 billion in federal funds to host the first American demonstration site for "maglev." A panel talks about how maglev could transform regional transportation in the U.S.
