Ray Davis, host of The Ray Davis Show on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, announced he will step back from the demands of his broadcasts to enter into retirement.

A five-part news series exploring the relationship between the firms at the heart of the District’s development boom and city politicians, premieres on May 20 on WAMU 88.5

WAMU 88.5 today announced the debut of The Big Fix, a program that allows citizens to propose innovative ideas to solve the nation’s biggest problems. Hosted by Al Lewis, The Big Fix will air in five pilot programs at 4 p.m., ET, on Saturdays, beginning Dec. 15.

WAMU’s Bluegrass Country presents BGC Live at Forty-Five, a bluegrass concert featuring The Del McCoury Band and The Gibson Brothers. The concert will take place at 8 p.m., Friday, Nov. 2, 2012, at The George Washington Lisner Auditorium (730 21st St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20052). Doors open at 7:30 p.m. 

WAMU 88.5’s The Kojo Nnamdi Show will leave the studio to record the latest in its series of Kojo in Your Community on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in Columbia Heights.

Tom “Cat” Reeder, longtime country music broadcaster and host of The Tom “Cat” Reeder Show on WAMU’s Bluegrass Country, died June 30. He was 77.
